This Cookie Policy explains how Daiyo uses cookies and similar storage technologies. It's a companion to our Privacy Policy — read that first for the full picture of what we collect and why.
By using Daiyo you agree to the storage described below. If you don't, don't use Daiyo.
The Daiyo mobile app does not use traditional HTTP cookies — there's no browser involved. It uses a few iOS-native storage mechanisms instead, all on your device:
| What we store | Where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Login token (JWT) | expo-secure-store (iOS Keychain) |
Keeps you signed in for 30 days |
| Location cache | App memory + Async Storage | Avoids re-requesting GPS every minute |
| Push notification token | App memory + sent to our server | Lets us send you match alerts |
| Theme / UI preferences | Async Storage | Remembers your settings between sessions |
The Daiyo public website (daiyoapp.com/legal/* and any future marketing pages) uses only the cookies described in §2 below.
We do not use cookies for cross-site tracking, ad targeting, or sale of personal information.
These are required for the site to function. You cannot opt out of them without breaking the site.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
__cf_bm |
Cloudflare (if used in the future) | Bot detection in front of the API | 30 minutes |
None at this time. If we add them (e.g. for remembering a chosen city on a marketing page), we'll update this section.
None at this time. If we add an analytics SDK (PostHog, Amplitude, etc.), it will be described here and an opt-out mechanism will be provided where required by law.
None. Daiyo does not show third-party ads inside the product, and our website does not use advertising cookies.
When Daiyo introduces the following services, this section will be updated to list any cookies they set:
__stripe_* cookies on its own checkout pages, not on Daiyo's domain.Today, none of the above are active in production beyond Apple Sign-In (which doesn't drop a cookie on our domain).
Mobile app: Sign out from the You tab to clear your stored login token. Deleting your account from the You tab also clears all locally-cached data on next launch.
Public website: Use your browser's standard controls to clear or block cookies for daiyo-production.up.railway.app (or whatever our production domain is at the time you're reading this). Note that blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break parts of the site.
You can also reset your iOS app data by uninstalling and reinstalling Daiyo.
We honor the iOS App Tracking Transparency permission — Daiyo does not request the IDFA and does not track you across apps or websites. The "Do Not Track" header on web browsers is honored by treating it as an opt-out from any future analytics cookies we may add.
If we add new storage mechanisms or third-party services that set cookies, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated in-app via a notification or banner.
